Leslie Montes, LMSW, is a bilingual social worker fluent in English and Spanish who is passionate about helping children, adolescents, and families feel safe, supported, and understood. She has experience providing play therapy and most recently served adolescents within a Federally Qualified Health Center, helping young people navigate mental health concerns, life transitions, relationships, and other challenges affecting their well-being.
Leslie began her journey with Cannenta as a graduate-level intern, providing counseling through the Cannenta Foundation’s Project Ayuda. In this role, she supported individuals and families who faced financial and systemic barriers to accessing mental health care. Her clinical experience includes individual, couples, and family therapy addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, and other emotional needs. She draws from evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care, while tailoring services to each client’s culture, strengths, and goals.
Leslie also has experience supporting parents affected by substance use, coordinating community resources, providing case management, and advocating for underserved populations. She earned her Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Texas at Arlington. Through compassionate, culturally responsive, and client-centered care, Leslie works to create an environment where clients feel empowered to heal, grow, and recognize their own resilience.
